Santa Came to Town, Cornerstone's Annual Christmas Party Spreads Holiday Cheer to Local Children

Updated: Apr 2

Cornerstone's annual Christmas Party is a highlight of the holiday season for many local

children. On December 16th, at the St Bernard Fellowship Hall, over 100 kids were treated to an afternoon of festive fun. This heartwarming event was made possible thanks to the generosity of our incredible community and volunteers who worked the party. Every year, Cornerstone proudly hosts this free party, spreading joyful memories and a touch of Christmas magic to our young ones. It's our way of celebrating the season's spirit, fostering joy, and offering a helping hand to families in need.

The party was abuzz with excitement from the moment the doors opened. Children eagerly participated in games with prizes, got their faces painted with colorful designs, and let loose on the dance floor to lively music. There were also opportunities for creative expression with a variety of craft selections.

But the highlight of the day was undoubtedly the visit from Santa Claus along with Mrs. Claus! Santa arrived carrying a sack with toys, which he personally handed out to each and every child. As one five-year-old was leaving from Santa’s visit, her tiny little hand quickly reached into his toy sack and snatched out a toy she then gifted to him - pure sweetness!

No child left the party empty-handed. In addition to the individual toys the children won from playing games, the children chose a stuffed animal and were given warm hats and gloves to ensure everyone stayed cozy during the winter months. Parents also received a bag full of new toys to wrap for Christmas morning.

This annual event was made possible thanks to the many generous donations from Rockville

High School Honor Society and Orchard Hill School in South Windsor. Marcy’s House of Beauty, The Phoenix Project, First Church of South Windsor, Beth Sholom B’nai Isreal, and various other churches and community partners, along with individuals who just wanted to give a helping hand. This Christmas party is a tradition that Cornerstone cherishes, as it provides a way to support local families and spread holiday cheer to those who need it most. We're so grateful to everyone who helped make this year's Christmas party such a success. Seeing the smiles on the children's faces reminds us of the true

meaning of the season.

The Cornerstone Christmas party is more than just a fun event; it's a testament to the power of community spirit. By working together, we can make a difference in the lives of children and families during the holidays and throughout the year. With Santa's blessings and the power of community let the laughter and holiday cheer continue!
