The Cornerstone Food Cupboard is run entirely by volunteers. Currently we have over 50 volunteers who serve the Cupboard each week in a variety of the following tasks:

Distribution of Food

  • Preparing bags of food for distribution to clients

  • Checking in and recording clients receiving food

  • Distributing prepacked bags of food

  • Registering new clients

Grocery Store Donations

  • Picking up produce, meat, bread, and pastry from ten stores

  • Processing grocery store donations

  • Preparing bags of produce for distribution to clients

Non-Perishable Food Donations

  • Picking up and storing Foodshare donations

  • Picking up and storing ShopRite $5 and $10 bag donations

  • Processing food donations from churches, individuals, and organizations

The volunteer team provides 750-800 hours of service monthly to the Cupboard. They have chosen to volunteer because they want to help make a difference in people’s lives and they certainly do make a difference for the 575 households who obtain food assistance at the Cupboard.
