A Heartfelt Thank You to Our Community and First Responders

On June 21, 2024, Cornerstone experienced a challenging and unexpected event—a fire that could have had devastating consequences. Thanks to the swift actions of our first responders and the overwhelming support from our community, we were able to navigate through this difficult time with hope and gratitude.

First and foremost, we want to extend our deepest thanks to the brave firefighters who quickly arrived on the scene and put out the fire. Your dedication and courage not only saved our building but also ensured the safety of everyone inside. We are incredibly grateful for your selflessness and professionalism.

We also want to acknowledge our incredible staff, especially Diandra, who demonstrated exceptional leadership and calm under pressure. Diandra managed to safely evacuate 26 people from the building and contacted the fire department with remarkable speed. Her actions undoubtedly prevented a far worse outcome, and we are immensely proud and thankful for her bravery.

The outpouring of support from our community has been nothing short of amazing. To those who brought in water bottles and ice pops for the kids, your kindness provided comfort and relief during a stressful time. To the compassionate mom who delivered baby supplies for the children in our shelter, your generosity touched our hearts and met a critical need.

Every act of kindness, no matter how small, has made a significant impact. Whether you offered words of encouragement, provided necessary supplies, or simply kept us in your thoughts and prayers, we are deeply grateful. Your support reminds us of the strength and unity of our community.

In times of crisis, it is the collective effort of individuals coming together that makes all the difference. We are humbled and honored to be part of such a caring and resilient community. As we move forward, we will continue to work tirelessly to support those in need, inspired by the incredible example of compassion and solidarity we have witnessed.

Thank you once again to our first responders, staff, and every member of the community who has stood by us. Together, we will rebuild and continue to make a positive difference in the lives of those we serve.

With heartfelt gratitude,

Jenn Kirchmeier
